History of the VW UP
The Volkswagen UP! is an all new city car developed by Volkswagen as a replacement for the outgoing Fox and before that, the Volkswagen Lupo. The UP! was revealed in concept form in 2007 with the final production version being showcased at the German International Motor Show in 2011, the same year Disney’s Cars 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides hit the cinemas.
The UP! was and continues to be instrumental for Volkswagen with development of the model continuing to this day, from the insurance friendly 60 bhp 1.0 petrol engine, to the all electric e-UP! and fantastic UP!
