Volvos are well renowned for their luxurious interiors, beautiful design and innovative safety technology, their illustrious history however tells a very different story. Volvos roots can be traced as far back as 1915 when SKF, a ball bearing manufacture joined forces with Volvo, it wasn’t until April 1927 that the first Volvo (Volvo OV 4) rolled off the production line, a year that saw just 280 models roll off the production line.
Fast forward to the present day and Volvos engineering expertise has seen them produce heavy duty trucks, agricultural vehicles, buses and of course cars with their famous forward thinking approach and world firsts including the 3 point seatbelt, side impact protection system, inflatable curtain airbags and much more.
